Withdrawals

As of 2024-2025, undergraduate students are limited to a total of six 成人AV视频 course withdrawals regardless of the number of credit hours per course. After the withdrawal limit is reached, students will be blocked from further course withdrawals by the University's registration system. Unused withdrawals shall be forfeited.

Courses with a grade of "WM" (medical withdrawal), "WS" (military withdrawal), "WR" (withdrawn refund) and "WA" (administrative withdrawals) are not counted in the limitation. Any undergraduate course withdrawals at 成人AV视频 prior to Fall 2013 and those that occurred during the spring 2020 term are also not counted towards withdrawal limits but will continue to be reflected on the student's transcript.

A student who has exceeded their withdrawal limit because of extraordinary, documented circumstances that are clearly beyond the student's control may appeal for exceeding the withdrawal limit to the Student Petition of Academic Policy (SPAP) Committee prior to the end of the term within which the student is enrolled. The course instructor, department chair, academic advisor and/or program director may recommend an action to support or not support the withdrawal, give no recommendation, or write an explanation of the applicable circumstances. Final approval/disapproval authority rests with the SPAP Committee.

Students are strongly encouraged to contact their academic advisors or program directors to discuss and understand how withdrawals will impact academic persistence, including time to graduation and meeting degree requirements. Students receiving financial aid who withdraw or plan to withdraw from any classes should contact the Office of Financial Aid via One-Stop Student Services to understand federal aid and scholarship award consequences and obligations. Students receiving VA benefits should contact the Military and Veterans Resource Center (MVRC).

A student may withdraw via myWings after the add/drop for non-payment period through the withdrawal deadline as posted on the Academic Calendar. Upon completion of the withdrawal process, a grade of "W" will be assigned, and no refund will be generated. If a student stops attending classes without officially withdrawing, a final grade of "F" may be assigned.

Graduate programs may have specific policies regarding the number of withdrawals allowed within the program. Graduate students are advised to first consult with their graduate program director before withdrawing from any course.

Late Withdrawals After the Deadline

A student who misses the withdrawal deadline as a result of extraordinary, documented circumstances may appeal for late withdrawal to the Student Petition of Academic Policy (SPAP) Committee prior to the end of classes for the term within which the student is enrolled. The course instructor, department chair, academic advisor and/or program director may recommend an action to support or not support the withdrawal, give no recommendation, or write an explanation of the applicable circumstances. Final approval/disapproval authority rests with the SPAP Committee.

Complete Withdrawals

Complete Withdrawal is the formal process of leaving the University. Once the Complete Withdrawal has been processed, the student's academic responsibility with the University will be discontinued and they will show as officially unenrolled based on the date of withdrawal. Dropping all classes or withdrawing from all classes in a term is not the same as a formal Complete Withdrawal from the University.

Students who initiate a formal Complete Withdraw from the University remain fee liable and receive a grade of WC in each course. The assigned "WC" grades will count towards the withdrawal limit and will remain on the academic transcript.

A formal Complete Withdrawal must be initiated by a student's academic advisor before the last day of the term and after meeting with the student A student who receives a Complete Withdrawal may not continue to attend class(es). A student who wants to enroll in a future term after a formal Complete Withdrawal must first meet with an academic advisor, after which the advisor will consult the Registrar's Office to confirm their eligibility to reenroll prior to removing the registration hold. A student who breaks continuous enrollment after a Complete Withdrawal must reapply for admission and is subject to all admission and academic program requirements at the time of reapplication.

A formal Complete Withdrawal is different from withdrawing from all courses in a term or withdrawing from all courses in a term to receive a 25 percent refund of tuition and fees. After the add/drop period ends and the drop for non-payment is complete, through the 25 percent refund deadline, students who withdraw from all courses for the term will receive a 25 percent refund of tuition and fee charges. In summer terms, the 25 percent refund only applies to full term (summer C) courses.

Withdrawing from courses does not automatically relieve a student of financial responsibility. Students are responsible for understanding how a withdrawal may affect their student account, including financial aid eligibility, payment plans, contractual obligations with 成人AV视频 Housing and Residence Life and 成人AV视频 Dining Services, and any applicable excess hour or repeat surcharges.
