Discover. Create. Soar.
Our faculty are leading innovative research that expands knowledge and tackles complex challenges. From developing a patented compound that can effectively “turn off” cancer to collaborating with NASA to investigate radiation from the sun’s powerful coronal mass ejections. At the same time, scholars across the humanities are deepening our understanding of the past and its connection to the present, including research exploring the migration and transformation of the 10th-century Indigenous landscape of Northeast Florida. These projects offer a snapshot of the scholarship and creative work taking place across our departments.
Through dedicated funding opportunities and institutional support, the College empowers faculty to pursue bold ideas, advance their fields and create transformative research experiences for students.

Faculty Funding Opportunities
Dean's Leadership Council Faculty Fellowships
The College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) Dean’s Leadership Council (DLC) is pleased to announce the annual Faculty Fellowships to support the scholarly and creative efforts of COAS faculty. All tenured and tenure-track faculty are invited to submit proposals. Recipients will receive a course release in either the spring or fall semester and a $4,000 research award for additional expenses, based on their project’s itemized budget. An awardee may choose to receive $1,500 in professional development funding in place of a course release.
These fellowships are made possible by the generosity of the Dean’s Leadership Council, a group of dedicated community volunteers whose mission is to support the College and foster strong connections with the community it serves.
