The Brooks College of Health Leadership Institute provides its students with educational programs to develop high-performing leaders. We focus on building leadership skills in all BCH students and providing access to healthcare executive networking opportunities. Our objectives are clear:

Provide educational experiences that encompass the principles and concepts that define excellence in leadership in both graduate and undergraduate students in Brooks College of Health programs.

Collaborate with healthcare employers in the region, drawing on their leadership development resources as a way of enhancing our leadership programs offered to students.

Build stronger ties with local healthcare employers to enhance enrollment at the Brooks College of Health and to enhance the hiring environment for graduating students.

Better prepare our students to enter the workforce and contribute to the success of their organization.

IGNITE Healthcare Leadership Program & Badge

This badge demonstrates successful completion of IGNITE, a healthcare leadership program designed to help students develop their Interpersonal Growth through self-awareness and expanding skills in Negotiation, Influence, Transformative Change, and Empowerment. This program approaches the fundamentals of leadership in healthcare by focusing on leading self, leading others, and leading transformational change. Students gain an increased self-awareness of their own leadership style and the importance of learning to adjust their style in various healthcare contexts. Additional topics focus on the importance of developing strong communication skills, and maximizing influence within a team, across an organization, and with other leaders. The changing healthcare landscape and how effective leadership can drive individual, team, and organizational transformation are also discussed.
