The Institute of Environmental Research and Education and the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board partner to host an annual environmental symposium. The symposium provides a unique platform for community members, regulatory agencies, scholars, and innovators to come together and engage in discussions related to environmental policy, sustainability, and resilience.

The purpose of the symposium aims to foster cooperation and dialogue among stakeholders involved in environmental protection and improvement while providing the opportunity for community interaction. The symposium provides valuable opportunities for communication and helps to further the goal of protecting our limited natural resources and improving the quality of life in Northeast Florida.

The Jacksonville Environmental Symposium has been scheduled for Friday, Feb. 12, 2027. It will be held at the Adam W. Herbert University Center alongside representatives from government agencies, utilities and innovators in a forum designed to foster an atmosphere of cooperation in environmental achievement.

Overview
Attendees enjoy the opportunity to attend two keynote addresses, breakout sessions and network with exhibitors on Friday, February 12. The symposium will provide valuable opportunities for communication between regulatory agencies, community members and faculty as we strive to further the goal of protecting our limited natural resources and improving the quality of life in Northeast Florida. Registration for the 2027 symposium will open fall 2026.
Volunteer

Past Symposium
Karen Patterson, Ph.D., 成人AV视频 Executive Vice President and Provost, provided welcoming remarks, with Ashantae Green, City of Jacksonville's first Sustainability Officer delivering the morning keynote address on the Clean Air North Florida Climate Action Plan. The 2026 symposium featured a progressive agenda, offering education, updates, insights, and goals. It included a luncheon keynote address from Jothsna Harris, founder and owner of Change Narrative Consulting LLC.
