Governance & Institutional Compliance


 

Office of General Counsel (OGC)

Provides legal guidance and support related to regulatory compliance, governance, contracts, public records, litigation, and institutional legal obligations.

Internal Auditing

Provides independent assurance and advisory services designed to evaluate internal controls, risk management, governance processes, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies.

Human Resources

Supports compliance with employment-related laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements, leave administration, equal employment obligations, employee relations, conflicts of interest, and outside activity reporting.

Controller’s Office

Supports compliance with financial management, accounting, tax, inventory, internal control, and financial reporting requirements to promote responsible stewardship of University resources.

Procurement Services

Ensures compliance with state procurement laws, University regulations, competitive solicitation requirements, and ethical purchasing standards.

Supports compliance with Florida public records laws and records retention requirements through proper management, retention, storage, and disposition of University records.

IT Security

Supports compliance with information security, cybersecurity, and data protection requirements through oversight of institutional systems, access controls, incident response, and protection of sensitive University information.

Safety, Security & Civil Rights


 

ADA Compliance

Supports compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and related accessibility laws through accommodations and equal access initiatives.

University Police Department

Supports compliance with federal and state campus safety requirements through law enforcement operations, campus security programs, crime prevention efforts, emergency response coordination, and safety reporting obligations.

Clery Act Compliance

Ensures compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act through crime reporting, timely warnings, annual security disclosures, and campus safety transparency requirements.

Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)

Supports compliance with environmental, occupational, laboratory, fire safety, hazardous materials, and workplace safety regulations to help maintain a safe campus environment.

Emergency Management

Coordinates emergency preparedness, crisis response, continuity planning, and campus emergency management efforts to support institutional resilience and regulatory compliance.

Title IX & Civil Rights

Ensures compliance with Title IX and other federal and state civil rights laws prohibiting discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct in education and employment.

Youth Programs Compliance

Supports compliance with laws, regulations, and University requirements related to minors participating in camps and other youth activities conducted on campus.

Academic & Research Compliance


 

Ensures compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules governing intercollegiate athletics, including eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, and student-athlete welfare.

Enrollment Services

Supports compliance with federal and state student enrollment requirements related to admissions, residency classification, and student financial aid.

International Center

Supports compliance with federal immigration and visa regulations related to international students, visiting scholars, exchange programs, and SEVIS reporting requirements.  

Registrar

Supports compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and related student records requirements governing the privacy, access, disclosure, and protection of student education records.

Research Compliance

Supports the ethical and compliant conduct of research activities, including export controls, human subjects protections, biosafety, research integrity, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional research requirements.
